National Flag:
A horizontal
tri-color of deep Saffron (Kesari) at the top, white in the middle, and dark
green at the bottom in equal proportions. In the center of white band, there is
a navy blue Charaka (Wheel) with 24 spokes and diameter equal to the white
band. Its design is that of the Charaka which appears on the abacus of the
Saranath Lion Capital of Ashoka. The ratio of the width of the flag to its
length is two to three.

National Emblem:
Four lions standing back to back
mounted on an abacus with a frieze carrying sculpture in high relief of an
elephant, a galloping horse, a bull, and a lion separated by intervening
Charakas. The words "Satyameva Jayate" (Truth Alone Triumphs) from the Mundaka
Upanishad are inscribed below the abacus in Devanagari script.
